Q: Can I send the products directly to charitable you?

Q: Can I put a reserve price on the donated products?

A: Typically, we do not list with a reserve, however, if you wish to have a reserve, please inform us on the donor form.

Q: What happens if an item does not sell?

A: We re-list all items for a second auction.  If an item is not sold after the second auction we will list as a "Buy It Now" for 30 days.  If the item still has not sold, we will donate to one of our affiliated charities or a charity identified by the host organization.

Q: Can I collect items from friends and bring them to the event or send to you?

A: Yes, you can collect items from friends, family, and colleagues and bring to the event or send directly to Charitable You.

Q: What happens if I have a friend living far away?  Can they contribute to my cause?

A: Yes, they can send the items directly to Charitable You using the Donor Form.

Q: How will I know how much my item sold for?

A: If you provide us you email address on the donor form, we will notify you when the auction goes live.  You can then watch and see how your item does.

Q: Can I bid on my item?

A: No, it is against eBay's policy to have people bid on their own items, please see "shill bidding" on eBay for more information

Q: Who pays for Shipping?

A: Shipping is paid for by the individual that won the item?

Q: Will Charitable You take any and all items?

A: Based on research done by Charitable You and eBay, certain items just do not sell that well on eBay.  Please refer to our "What Sells" document.

Q: Can I make an individual donation?

A: Yes, you can send an item directly to Charitable You

Q: What if I want to donate something that's not on your list of "what to bring" items?

A: Please email us at info@charitableyou.com and provide us a brief description of the item and we will let you know.

Q: Do you provide a tax receipt?

A: You donor form can be used as a reference for your charitable donation.  If any item you donate sells for more than $250, we will send you a formal receipt from Charitable You.

Q: What if I donate a product that I realize I'd wanted to keep? Can I get it back if it hasn't sold on eBay yet?

A: If the item has already been listed, we would have to wait until the auction is complete.  If the item has not been sold or listed, we will contact you regarding item pick-up.

Q: Do you insure the items that are donated?

A: Items in storage are insured by our insurance policy.  If the buyer requests insurance we will insure the item.

Q: What if someone misses our event but still wants to donate items?

A: Individuals, can still donate items and the benefit will still go to the charity.
